Motorcycle accidents occur for various reasons ranging from the carelessness of riders, impairments, over speeding, and adverse road conditions. When a bike and a car collide, the motorcyclist sustains wounds that are either fatal or life-altering, due to the exposed nature of the motorcycle.
With over 800 000 registered motorcycle riders in the state of California, the Department of Motor Vehicles advise bikers to ensure they wear the right gear. By law, a motorcyclist should have on the US Department of Transportation compliant safety helmet.
The latter must cover the face and eye, and the rider should also have on protective apparels like long sleeve jackets, long heavy pants, full-fingered leather gloves, and ankle closed-toe boots. When there’s an accident, a rider who survives or a witness should file an accident report immediately.
