The boys alighted from their vehicle and were walking towards the parked car when an oncoming driver struck Just and one of his companions. The driver was on top speed and didn’t stop to render help. The teenager died at the scene from injuries sustained, and the others had minor wounds.
The hit-and-run driver is still at large, and the authorities have not released any information on his or her identity. The investigation is ongoing, and there will be an update at a later time.
It is not uncommon for drivers who hit pedestrians to flee the scene of the accident afterward. Traffic authorities advise drivers to stay after a collision, offer help if needed, and report the car accident to the appropriate authorities.
Failure to do any of the above would lead to criminal prosecution when caught. When there’s severe bodily harm or death, the person might face prison time for several years.
