The Snohomish County Coroner’s autopsy report ruled Askew’s cause of death as blunt force trauma caused by accident. The police believe that speed did not play a role in the accident, neither did drug or alcohol, or a combination of both.
Accidents involving a motorcycle are not entirely uncommon. Several factors cause an accident ranging from over speeding of the motorcyclist to impaired driving with the motorcyclist under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Another cause is the motorcyclist wrongly taking a turn or colliding with a vehicle. Motorcycle crashes leave the victim with severe traumatic injuries like concussions, intracranial bleeding, organ rupture broken bones, and road rash.
Based on the fatality rate of motorcycle accident reports, traffic authorities have advised riders to drive within the legal speed limit at all turns. A motorcyclist should slow down when taking turns, and he or she should overtake vehicles only when he or she has the right of way.
Wear protective coverings and fasten a helmet safely on the head. Don’t drink and ride and obey all traffic laws.
