The vehicle swerved right, struck two pedestrian control signal posts at the intersection, and a Honda Odyssey operated by a Yorkville resident. The second vehicle stopped for a red light at the intersection in the southbound lane of R-47. The police said a witness and a Honda driver followed the suspect’s Jeep into the 500-block of West Kendall Street.
Officers also caught up with the woman at the intersection and conducted a field sobriety test on her. They determined that Fecarotta-Lumino was under the influence and placed her under arrest. The YPD said that they cited the suspect for improper lane usage and no proof of insurance in addition to the DUI charges.
Records from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office showed that the woman posted a bond, and they released her pending a court appearance. Intoxication is one of the leading causes of motor vehicle accidents, and drivers can prevent the latter by driving without impairment and seeking other means of transportation.
