A report of a car accident from the East Bay area of California, in the early hours of Wednesday, April 15th, covers the death of a man. Juan Benitez, 19, who was identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office, died after his car ended up underwater.

The vehicle submerged into the water, and Pittsburgh Police Lt. Phil Galer said that Benitez was probably underwater for 10 to 20 minutes before the first responders arrived. A water rescue team got to work as soon as they got to the scene and pulled the teenager out of his car to the surface.
The medics tried to revive him, and a waiting ambulance immediately ferried Benitez to the hospital, and the doctors pronounced him dead. There is no further information at the time of this report.
Teenage crashes are not uncommon in California and the United States. Data put together from reports of car accidents by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) show that over speeding causes crashes among young people.
Another is the inexperience of the drivers, who are aged between 16 and 19, and nighttime driving. The distraction caused by texting, calling, or eating while driving also contributes as well as drowsy, reckless, and impaired driving.
