Police said Snyder at about 5 p.m. Sunday was eastbound on West Speedway when he drove through a red light at North Greasewood Road. The motorcycle struck a southbound vehicle on North Greasewood Road, according to car accident reports.
Snyder was declared dead at the scene of the wreck by emergency medical services personnel, authorities said. His passenger, whom authorities did not publicly identify, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to a Tucson Police Department press release.
Authorities did not provide an update on Snyder’s passenger’s condition Tuesday night.
The other driver in the wreck, whom authorities did not identify, had a green light when the crash occurred. The driver cooperated with investigators at the scene and was not wounded in the wreck.
The preliminary investigation suggests speed was a factor, but car accident reports do not say whether other factors like inattentive driving or intoxication are thought to have contributed.
Investigators continue to look into the incident. No citations or charges have been announced by authorities.

So sad to hear that another person has lost their lives in a motorcycle accident. I wonder if they were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, I know that helmets can help prevent head trauma in an accident. With the current circumstances going on in the world it will be hard for the family to have a proper funeral for this young man. Is there any indication that the family will do a larger service later on?
