The police in Reedley, California, arrested a man who would need a car accident attorney following a high-speed chase that ended in a crash. John Mathison, 41, started the events that led to the Monday, May 25th, accident.
The preliminary accident report showed that earlier in the day, the suspect led deputies on a chase through the city after they tried to pull him over for driving drunk. The pursuit ended after Mathison struck the vehicle of an unidentified woman, and crashed into an orchard.

The impact of the collision left the unnamed woman trapped inside her vehicle, and it took the effort of first responders to get her out. While the rescue operation was ongoing, a deputy instructed the suspect to step out of his car.
The Fresno County Jail Spokesperson Tony Botti said that Mathison refused to step out, and used abusive words on the officer while sipping beer. The lawman eventually took the man into custody and booked him into jail at about 5 p.m.
The suspect remained in custody for three hours, but due to California, no bail policy, the authorities released him at about 8 p.m. Mathison is facing charges of obstructing an officer, evading police, and crashing his vehicle which resulted in the injury of another person.
Botti said that under normal circumstances, the suspect would pay $120 000 in bail bond. He also revealed that the man would appear in court sometime in July, and a car accident attorney would come in handy at the time.
Additional information provided disclosed that the county police on Sunday, May 17th, detained the suspect for obstruction and waving around a cutlass near his girlfriend. He received misdemeanor citation, and the police released him afterwards.
