Both Link and Malette were patients at Bridgewater State Hospital. Link traded over $100 worth of canteen items with Malette for the drugs.

Bridgewater State Prison was widely known in Massachusetts as an inhumane and cruel facility, offering minimal care and less compassion for their mentally ill patients.
All that changed with the Massachusetts State government replaced all staff with highly trained guards, and fortified the facility with mental health professionals more capable of treating mentally ill patients.
Malette is currently incarcerated awaiting arraignment.
