Barnett likely will be represented during upcoming court proceedings by a car injury attorney.
Police said Barnett failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of McDermott Road and Preston Meadow Drive in Plano on Monday. His pickup truck collided with a minivan occupied by three people as it went through the intersection, according to authorities.
The three occupants of the minivan, including a 3-year-old child who was not properly restrained, were hospitalized with what Plano police in a press release described as serious injuries. Barnett also reported injuries, but they were not thought to be serious.
Updated condition reports for all four people were not available Friday evening.
Barnett was arrested on suspicion of unlawful carrying of weapons, intoxication assault and resisting arrest, transport or search, according to authorities. The incident still is being investigated by the Plano Police Department Traffic Unit, a press release stated.
Additional details about the charges weren’t available in online records Friday. It’s unclear whether any court dates are upcoming. Barnett likely will need to obtain the services of a car injury attorney.
