The CHP investigators said that the man turned to the right and lost control of the Toyota. Leal drove the car off the side of the road, and it collided with a barbed wire fence and a dirt embankment, before resting approximately 60 feet from the roadway on its wheels,
The man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and he suffered severe injuries. The first responders used an air ambulance to take him to Kern Medical. The authorities do not believe that drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both played a role in the accident.
Several reports of car accidents have shown seatbelts save lives more often than not. There are a lot of benefits for using belts, and one of them includes safety for the driver of a vehicle and passengers.
It keeps accident victims in place during crashes, works well with airbag deployment, and reduces the risk of injuries and death. It also keeps drivers from getting cited for a traffic offense and getting a fine.
