Thirty-eight-year-old Jamie Fox, a resident of Carson, died from injuries sustained at the crash before she could be transported to an area hospital for treatment, troopers reported this week. Troopers said Fox’s vehicle was the only one involved in the wreck.
Fox at about 7:30 p.m. Friday was driving on Washington 14 near Lyle when she lost control of her vehicle, according to car accident reports. The vehicle traveled into the eastbound lane and struck an embankment, causing it to roll and come to a rest on the highway’s shoulder
Emergency medical personnel said Fox succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Two of her passengers, Carson residents Matthew Long, 22, and Whitney Baker, 24, were taken to area hospitals for treatment, authorities said.
Fox was transporting three children at the time of the crash, authorities reported. Car accident reports did not say whether any of the children were injured or needed to be treated by emergency medical personnel.
The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Troopers have not said whether they suspect that factors like speed, inattentive driving or intoxication are thought to have contributed to the incident.
Future car accident reports likely will provide additional details about the incident.
