An accident occurred near Millerton Road and Via Bellaggio around 2 a.m. on March 13.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident that involved a 1995 Nissan pickup truck and a 1998 Toyota Camry. Based on their initial investigation, the driver of the Nissan was going north, up a hill, when the driver went into the southbound lane. He crashed head-on into the Toyota.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Three passengers in the backseat of the Toyota were also pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The identities of the four deceased individuals were not released.
The California Highway Patrol identified the driver of the Toyota as 60-year-old James Vang. 50-year-old Nao Y. Moua was identified as the front seat passenger of the Toyota.
Moua was taken to an area hospital via ambulance for injuries sustained in the head-on collision.
Vang was airlifted for medical attention. His injuries were considered to be life-threatening. There have not been any updates yet as to their condition at this time.
The road near the scene of the accident had to be closed for five hours. This allowed investigators to determine the cause of the accident. There has not been a reason as to why the driver of the Nissan crossed the center line.
The investigators do not believe that impairment was a factor in the accident.
