The preliminary investigation into the crash uncovered that Omary was traveling north as a passenger in a red 2012 Mitsubishi Galant. At the same time, a 2004 GMC SUV and a white 2018 Hino van were heading south on Metric.
The two vehicles for unknown reasons collided, forcing the van to cross the center median into the northbound lanes. The van went on to hit the Gallant carrying the deceased, and the impact left him with extensive injuries.
Omary made it to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, but the APD said he passed away upon arrival. Four other unidentified people travelling in the Gallant sustained injuries, but the drivers of the GMC and the van were injured. The two stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the authorities.
The accident report update did not disclose if the investigators cited anyone for the accident, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with helpful information should contact the APD or use the tipsters’ line if they wish to remain anonymous.
