The California Highway Patrol reported that Bravo fled after the 2009 Honda Accord he was driving crashed into a Toyota Camry. The incident happened near the intersection of Paraiso Avenue and San Francisco Street at about 11:15 a.m.
Rather than stop, he continued driving at high speed to flee the scene. A block to the south, the Honda hit the driver’s side of another vehicle, a 2010 Volkswagen CC, that was traveling east. The second crash happened at Jamacha Boulevard. The impact of the collision sent both cars skidding out of control into parked vehicles.
Travis Garrow, an officer of the CHP, said that a passenger in Bravo’s car jumped out of his vehicle and ran away. Paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the driver of the Volkswagen, a woman, severely injured and rushed her to Scripps Mercy Hospital. She was admitted with life-threatening injuries. Authorities are yet to reveal the woman’s identity.
Authorities also took Bravo to San Diego trauma center, where he received treatment on the minor injuries he sustained.
