The police in Selma, California, arrested a young woman for driving under the influence of alcohol, and she would need a drunk driving attorney’s service. Jacher Lopez, 23, was taken into custody after crashing her car on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 20th.
The investigators said that the suspect was driving an SUV on 2nd St. and Whitson near Berry Park when the crash occurred. In an interview with the police, Lopez said she lost control of her car after taking her eyes off the road to look at her phone.

The distraction caused the young woman to strike a curb before her vehicle rolled over and struck two trees and a light pole. Officers determined that Lopez was under the influence, and she admitted to having a shot of alcohol while playing beer pong.
The authorities did not state if the suspect’s blood alcohol concentration was above the legal limit. They arrested her on suspicion of DUI and took her to an undisclosed hospital for medical checkup. Next, the officers cited Lopez and released her because of the California zero bail policy.
Distracted driving and DUI are two of the leading causes of motor vehicle accidents in California and the United States. It takes three seconds for a distracted driver to crash, and alcohol or drug impairment affects a motorist’s cognitive ability and motor function.
Law enforcement agencies and traffic authorities advise drivers to desist from the two for their safety and that of other road users. When a DUI accident occurs, the person involved should hire a drunk driving attorney to represent his or her interests.
