Witnesses told the investigators that the young driver was weaving in and out of traffic at top speed before the collision occurred. The impact left Llamas and the teenage girl, who was a backseat passenger with severe injuries that claimed their lives.
The medics pronounced the two dead and took a 15-year-old unnamed male passenger to the hospital to treat his moderate wounds. Officers found a gun and marijuana at the crash site, and they are treating it as a crime scene.
They suspect that Llamas was driving under the influence of drugs, and will release a confirmation update once they have the toxicology test and autopsy result. The investigation is ongoing, and there’s no additional information at this time.
Speeding is one of the common causes of road traffic accidents. As seen in accident reports, it prevents motorists from applying the brakes in time to avoid a collision and makes them lose control of the car. The latter often result in a single-vehicle crash.
