As Barbara reached the intersection of the Route 17 and Lowe Road, she came into collision with another vehicle. This other vehicle was identified as a 2020 Toyota Corolla. Zachary M. Rohlfs, 20, of Bourbonnais was driving the Corolla and was headed eastbound along the Route 17 at the time.
As both vehicles reached the intersection, Barbara See attempted to take a left turn and get onto the Lowe Road. In doing so, she failed to yield the right of way to the eastbound Corolla. The Chrysler minivan came directly into the path of the Corolla which collided into the front passenger side of the minivan.
Caryle A. See, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, sustained critical injuries. She was rushed to the Riverside Medical Center where she died of her injuries. Both Barbara and Rohlfs also sustained injuries in the collision and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations by the ISP revealed that Barbara’s negligence caused the crash. She was issued a ticket for failure to yield at an intersection as per the latest accident reports.
