As Junior’s Accord neared the milepost 96, a truck tractor trailer drove close by, also headed northbound in the passing lane. The vehicle was identified as a 2020 White Freightliner Truck Tractor Trailer combination.
As the truck tractor trailer passed by Junior’s vehicle, the driver failed to notice it. When the driver drove back into the driving lane, the big rig came into collision with the Honda Accord. The Accord then got out of Junior’s control and spun into the highway’s median.
Junior sustained minor injuries in the incident. Once the paramedics arrived on the scene of the crash, she was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the big rig was identified as Manjit Grewal, 41, of Brampton, Ontario. Grewal remained uninjured in the accident. Preliminary investigations conducted by ISP revealed that Grewal’s negligence caused the crash. He was subsequently cited for Improper Lane Usage as per the ISP accident reports.
