NORTH COUNTY, CA – A 56-year-old man was killed on Sunday morning in an accident on I-15 north of Pala Mesa, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
The accident occurred near Stewart Canyon Road around 1:20 a.m. The driver swerved to the right and hit a guardrail while travelling in the southbound lanes of I-15.

Both the 56-year-old driver and a 28-year-old passenger were rushed to the hospital, where the driver passed away. The other victim remained hospitalized as of Monday morning and further information on his condition is not currently available.
California Highway Patrol officers are currently unsure why the driver lost control or whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
