CHULA VISTA, CA – A house fire on Coralwood Court killed two children and hospitalized their father early Thursday morning, reports NBC San Diego.
The fire department responded to the area around 12:30 and found a two-story home ablaze with the two children inside.

According to the fire department, the engine company arrived on the scene first and began putting out the fire and then the rescue team began searching the premises.
The rescue team discovered the bodies of the two children. One of the children went to kindergarten at Avondale Elementary School in Spring Valley.
A man, assumed to be the children’s father, and a woman escaped the blaze on their own. The father suffered severe burns as was hospitalized. The woman was uninjured.
Investigators are working to discover the cause of the fire.
