Kincaid at 5:57 p.m. Saturday was driving westbound on Stony Corners Road near Burkett Road when he approached a curve in the road, according to authorities. Kincaid lost control of his vehicle on the curve, causing it to drive off the roadway, car accident reports state.
The vehicle kept traveling until it crashed into an embankment, troopers said. The vehicle flipped several times, according to car accident reports.
Kincaid, who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the wreck, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, authorities said. However, it is unclear whether he was ejected during the incident.
Kincaid was transported via air ambulance to a trauma center in Traverse City, according to emergency medical personnel. However, he later died as a result of the injuries suffered in the wreck, troopers said.
The Michigan State Police continues to investigate the wreck. It is unclear from car accident reports available Sunday whether investigators believe factors like inattentive driving, speed or intoxication might have contributed to the wreck.
