A Dodge Ram pickup truck being driven by 74-year-old William Blize was driving northbound on the highway when Orsburn sideswiped his truck.
The impact sent Orsburn flying off of the motorcycle, and he sustained severe injuries as a result of the ejection. Based on the report, he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Although the extent of his injuries were not released, it is possible that Orsburn could have sustained a multitude of them from the ejection. These include broken bones, paralysis, eye and facial injuries, and lacerations. Traumatic brain injuries are often common in motorcycle ejections. The fact that Orsburn was wearing a helmet will help lower the possibility of extensive head trauma.
Blize was not injured in the accident. Per the report from the California Highway Patrol, he was unable to avoid hitting Orsburn.
No updates have been released regarding the condition of Orsburn at this time. He was taken to Kern Medical Center via lifeline services. The accident is currently still under investigation at this time.
