After a man from Gridley, 55 miles to Sacramento, California, trespassed on private property and lost his life, a car injury lawyer may not be needed. Authorities said that Dustin Ray Womack, 31, died on Sunday, April 5th.
The California Highway Patrol said that first responders found Womack trapped in his car inside a canal. The deceased was heading west on Liberty Road. When he got to the end of the roadway, he crashed through the gate of a private property.

CHP said that Womack then drove on a muddy, grassy levee road, and reached a 90-degree turn. The man was unable to make the turn, and the car rolled into a drainage canal. He failed to get himself out and died inside the vehicle.
The CHP has not determined if the crash into the private property was an accident or intentional. They are still investigating and will update the public once they have more information.
Accidents aren’t uncommon in California, and the reason they occur vary from driver’s negligence, nature, to an underlying defect in the vehicle. When a person dies or sustains a severe injury in a single-vehicle crash, investigators look to any of the three for the cause.
When it’s the third, the investigators will try to determine if the defect came from the manufacturer of the vehicle or the driver’s lack of maintenance of his or her car. If it’s former, then the victim or his or her representative would need to hire a car injury attorney for a civil lawsuit.
