On getting to the scene, the officials found that Jones’ motorcycle and a vehicle had collided. The man was still alive at the time, but critically injured. The medics immediately transported him to the hospital, where he later died.
There is no information on the driver of the four-wheeler or if the vehicle was stationary at the time of the crash. Blanchard expressed the county’s condolences to Jones’ family, saying they are in the sheriff’s office’s thoughts and prayers.
The crash is still under investigation, and the officials will provide updates as events unfold.
Motorcycle crashes are one of the leading causes of accidental death in Georgia and the United States. The deaths make up 14% of all traffic deaths and 17% of all fatalities involving riders and passengers. Most of the casualties are a result of bikers not wearing protective covering.
The exposed nature of the motorcycle leaves the rider with traumatic injuries that affect the upper and lower body. After a crash, a motorcycle attorney should get contacted, and a private investigation launched to determine negligence and liability.
