The injuries were all believed to be minor.
The authorities have not released the names of any of the injured people but the driver has been identified as 21-year-old Dominica Lopez.
The accident happened around 3:55 a.m. on Interstate 35E in Dallas.
The Dallas Police Department said the patrol car had responded to a separate major crash in the area of the Marvin D. Love Freeway split.
They were among personnel closing down the expressway so police could investigate the crash and the lights on their vehicle were flashing.
However, Lopez reportedly smashed into one of the patrol cars, causing it to turn and strike the police officers.
Lopez’s two 21-year-old passengers suffered injuries and they were transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center for treatment.
The backseat passenger suffered a broken nose while the woman in the front passenger seat received a broken arm.
Meanwhile, the two police officers’ injuries were not detailed in the accident reports but they were also taken to Methodist Dallas.
Lopez is now charged with an offense that’s typically a third-degree felony. If she is found guilty, she could spend up to ten years in prison and have to pay a maximum fine of $10,000.
Police will continue their investigations and more information about this car accident could be published.
