Authorities said they have arrested a woman accused of texting moments before she lost control of her vehicle last week, causing it to crash into a utility pole in Arlington.
Twenty-two-year-old Denisa Burt, of Arlington, also is accused of driving while intoxicated, the Arlington Police Department reported recently. No injuries were reported in connection to the crash, and reports do not list any other vehicles that were involved in the incident.

Burt likely will need the services of a drunk driving attorney to represent her during future court hearings.
Burt at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday was driving southbound on Mystic Street when she lost control of her vehicle, according to police. Her car left its lane and veered into a utility pole, authorities said.
The force of the crash caused her vehicle to spin around, police said. Burt was able to extricate herself from the car, which was heavily damaged, before authorities arrived on scene.
Burt allegedly told investigators she had been texting with her friends just prior to the crash. She was arrested on charges of sending or receiving an electronic message while driving, driving under the influence and a marked lane violation.
Online court records don’t show upcoming court dates, nor do they list a name of a drunk driving attorney who will represent Burt. The incident remains under investigation by the Arlington Police Department, and no other details were immediately available.
