Andrade, a resident of San Luis Obispo, was driving a ’99 Honda Accord eastbound on the highway when he collided head-on with a 2019 Ford, for unknown reasons. The driver of the latter is a 40-year-old woman from New Mexico.
Both drivers sustained unspecified wounds, and the medics took them to Cottage Hospital, Santa Barbara, for treatment. Sadly. Andrade passed away while receiving treatment, and the authorities did not release an update on the female driver’s identity.
The accident led to the closure of the highway while the investigators gathered evidence and cleared the scene. The investigation remains active, and there’s no additional information at this time.
Most motor vehicle collisions occur due to the carelessness of drivers and sometimes due to adverse road conditions. Some common causes of head-on collisions include wrong-way driving, running red lights, illegal lane changes, and speeding.
Traffic authorities advise drivers to desist from the preceding and practice road safety habits. Those involved or who witness traffic collisions should file an accident report as soon as practicable.
