The driver of the second vehicle, Frank Thompson, 58, of Austell, sustained severe wounds that claimed his life. The authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. The female motorist did not sustain any injury from the collision, and the police detained her at the scene.
Further preliminary investigation led officers to believe that Faison rear-ended the Saturn intentionally, and they arrested her. The motive for the collision remains elusive, and the inquiry remains active. In the meantime, the authorities booked the suspect into the Cobb County Jail; they are holding her without bail.
