Coleman crossed over the center line on the highway. His car began to spin into the path of the box truck that was coming his direction. The box truck hit the left side of Coleman’s car and split it in half.
The force of the collision caused the box truck to roll. While it was on its top, the truck collided into a light pole. After striking the pole, the box truck came to rest in a ditch.
Coleman ended up thrown out of the vehicle during the crash. He had to be transported from the scene of the accident to the hospital. Emergency crews took him to Perry Hospital where staff later confirmed he had died.
The Georgia State Patrol confirmed the death of Seats at the scene of the accident.
It is unknown what the injuries of the box truck driver are. They were not released, nor was it disclosed if he was taken to the hospital.
At the time of publishing, the name of the box truck driver had not been released to the public. Updates will reflect the name once the authorities have released it.
Officials have not speculated the cause of Coleman crossing the centerline. The report did not say if any of the victims were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
It is possible that drugs and/or alcohol could have played a role in the accident.
The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the accident.
