As Borunda got his phone out to call the police, the car accident happened. An SUV that was in the path of the Mustang veered to avoid a head-on collision. Unfortunately, they still got hit by the oncoming Mustang.
When the Mustang struck the SUV, it split in half. The back half of the car came to rest against a utility pole, causing the wires to fall with the impact. Paramedics at the scene took the driver of the Mustang to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. They estimated the man to be in his 30s.
The driver of the SUV suffered significant injuries in the accident but will likely survive. The names of those injured in the accident are not public at this time.
Police are currently looking for anyone with any information regarding the accident. They are scouring the area looking for video footage and the identity of the second sports car. The sports car was not at the scene when authorities arrived at the scene.
This car accident is currently still under investigation.
