Staff Sergeant Greg Williams with the TDPS said that it was raining heavily at the time, and Hill, who was on the same roadway with three other vehicles, went off the road due to bad visibility. The deceased’s vehicle was the only one involved in the tragic crash and the sole occupant of his automobile.
Facts gathered from accident reports reveal that adverse weather conditions are some of the causes of traffic accidents. Fog, rain, and snowy weather are the most dangerous to drive in as motorists suffer poor visibility, and the roads are slippery.
Traffic officials advise drivers who choose to drive in such weather to ensure they have the right tires and have their headlamps working at 100% capacity. If possible, drivers should avoid driving at night or during the early hours of the morning when the weather is adverse.
Listen to weather reports before heading out and drive when the climate is favorable. When a crash occurs, report the car accident timeously to enable the authorities to send help in time.
