The ejection caused the man to land on the roadway, but he survived with non-life-threatening injuries. The police, after taking Grinkey’s statement about the crash, cited him for operating an uninsured vehicle and violation of classifications. There is no additional information at this time.
Motorcycle accidents are not uncommon in Texas, and riders are 27 times more likely to sustain a fatal injury than those involved in auto crashes. The causes of bike crashes lie mostly with the riders who exchange caution and obedience to traffic rules for adrenaline.
The causes include unsafe lane changes that often make a rider fall off the motorcycle, motorist opening car doors in the path of an oncoming motorcycle, and over speeding. Others are driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, lane splitting, sudden stops, inexperience, adverse road conditions, and design defects.
Those who get cited for motorcycle crashes should contact a motorcycle accident attorney for legal advice and representation.
