State of Michigan authorities said a man was killed early Friday morning in a head-on crash in Ogemaw County that injured three others, including an infant.
Twenty-year-old Timothy Guoan, a resident of Rose City, died at the scene of the crash, which was reported at about 2:15 a.m. Friday near Cumming Township, the Michigan State Police reported. Three occupants of the other vehicle, including the driver and a 10-month-old baby, also suffered injuries, according to car accident reports.

Guoan at about 2:15 a.m. Friday was northbound on Michigan 33 when he lost control of his vehicle, crossing the highway’s centerline into the oncoming lane. His vehicle crashed head-on into a southbound vehicle, inflicting “catastrophic damage,” police said in a press release.
Guoan died from his injuries before he could be transported to a hospital by emergency medical personnel. According to car accident reports, the other driver and her passengers were injured, but the wounds aren’t thought to be life-threatening.
The occupants of the second vehicle were not named in car accident reports.
The Michigan State Police continues to investigation the crash. It still is unclear whether factors like speed, intoxication or inattentive driving might have contributed to the crash, according to authorities.
Police have not said whether any charges or citations have been filed as a result of the crash. Future car accident reports likely will include additional details about the incident.
