The impact left the four severely injured, and Valdez and one of the children passed away from their wounds at the scene. Camacho and the other child lived long enough to make it to Palomar Medical Center for treatment. But the two passed away despite the best effort of doctors.
The police added that the driver of the Mazda, identified as a 28-year-old woman from Escondido, sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the hospital. They did not state if the woman would get cited for the accident.
