The deceased was driving an early model Lexus, when for unknown reasons, he went off the roadway, sped through a grassy embankment, and struck an overpass. The car then caught fire, but the authorities didn’t state if Butcher was engulfed in flames.
CHP said he died at the scene, and the medics pronounced him dead. The investigators are looking to see if speed played a role in the crash, but they have ruled out drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both, as contributing factors.
Single-vehicle crashes are not uncommon in the state of California and occur for several reasons. The factors include adverse road conditions, speed, impairments, recklessness, and adverse weather conditions like fog, rain, and snow.
At other times, distracted driving also causes solo crashes; it only takes three seconds for a distracted driver to crash. Authorities advise drivers to abstain from preceding factors and exercise care and caution while on the road.
If a crash occurs, drivers or witnesses should report the car accident immediately to avoid adverse legal consequences.
