A single-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Hillsdale County claimed the life of a Georgia man, authorities reported Wednesday.
Seventy-seven-year-old Carl Tressler, a resident of Woodbine, Ga., was killed in the wreck on Cranberry Lake Road, which occurred at 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to car accident reports from the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department. The reports do not list any other vehicles that were involved in the incident, nor do they report any other injuries.

Tressler at about 6 p.m. Tuesday was driving his pickup truck south on Cranberry Lake Road when he lost control of his vehicle near West Litchfield Road, sheriff’s department officials said. The truck went off the roadway and struck a tree, car accident reports stated.
Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene, but it became apparent Tressler was fatally wounded in the incident, according to authorities. Car accident reports did not say whether Tressler had passengers at the time of the wreck, but no additional injuries are listed.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department. Information released as of Wednesday evening provides few details about what factors, such is intoxication or speed, might have contributed to the crash.
Investigators were assisted by first responders from Reading and Litchfield Township, according to car accident reports.
