A DUI is a severe offense in the state of California, and when a death occurs, offenders are liable to spend between four to ten years in state prison. In proving the offense, the prosecutor must show that the offender at the time of the accident drove a vehicle and was intoxicated while driving. The person also stands to lose his or her driving privileges until the court decides otherwise.
Anyone involved in a DUI accident should contact a drunk driving attorney to represent his or her interest.
