Two-vehicle collisions are one of the causes of crash-related deaths in Illinois and the United States. Several human-made factors and unforeseen circumstances on the road lead to accidents. They can be mitigated if drivers put safety first, obey the rules of the way, and follow safety tips.
The latter includes obeying stop signs and traffic lights, paying attention when on the road, and wearing seat belts. Avoid driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Check the vehicle to ensure that the side mirrors are in the right position, the blinkers are functioning correctly, and there’s no fluid leakage.
When driving on a two-lane road, stick to the right side of the way, and if it’s a road that allows parking on the right, stick to the centerline. Expect other drivers to make mistakes and yield to vehicles, especially near intersections.
