The Waco police are seeking help from the public to find the person responsible for a hit-and-run accident that occurred Sunday, March 15, around 5:00 a.m.
Based on the release provided by the Waco Police Department, they received a call about a bicycle being located that had been struck by a car on the 100 block of South New Road. When they got to the area of the bicycle, they found it, but not a bicyclist.

After searching the area, they located the critically injured body of 40-year-old Brandon Rank. Rank was found 100 feet away from the bicycle.
Emergency personnel rushed him from the scene and to a local hospital where he is reported to be in critical condition from the accident.
Rank’s family was notified of the accident while he was being taken to the hospital.
The police do not have the name of the driver who hit Rank, but has a general description of the vehicle. Witnesses said that the car was a 2011 to 2014 dark gray Dodge Avenger. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after striking the bicycle.
The Avenger may have front quarter panel damage due to striking Rank and his bicycle. The police are asking that everyone be on the lookout for a vehicle that is fitting this description.
