The coroner said that Bowman, King, Cooper, and Harper were passengers in the smaller vehicle and had other unnamed individuals inside. There is currently no information on whether or not the other occupants sustained injuries, and the report did not mention the driver.
The Decatur Police Department has not cited anyone for the accident, and the investigation is ongoing. They will release an update once they have more information.
Accident reports show collisions between smaller vehicles and semi-trailers are among the most deadly of all traffic collisions. Whether it is a rear-end collision, a head-on or broad-side collision, the point of impact often leaves a car wrecked as speed multiplies.
It leads to fatal injuries, and those who survive have severe injuries that alter their quality of life or minor ones that they quickly recover from. All road users must exercise due care when on the road at all times.
