Banderas was driving one of the two vehicles — a white Chevrolet pickup truck and a small black sedan — involved in the accident. The authorities said one of the cars was in the center divider, and the other pulled over in the right shoulder.
The Chevrolet collided with the sedan for reasons they haven’t uncovered, leaving the female driver with undisclosed injuries. The CHP did not state if any other person sustained any wound in the accident and will release an update later.
Two-vehicle collisions are one of the leading causes of deaths and severe injuries in California. The impact of such collisions is usually so severe that it leaves the cars involved wrecked. Some of the common causes of this type of accident include speeding, wrong-way driving, illegal lane change, and distracted driving.
Traffic authorities advise drivers to desist from the above and ensure they put their safety, that of their passengers, and other road users above everything else. When there’s a car collision, those involved and witnesses should file an accident report immediately to enable first responders to arrive on time to provide help.
