Garcia was traveling in a Ford F-250 heading east on the interstate when he crashed into a 30-foot home-built equipment transportation trailer. 24-year-old Taylor Geisbrecht was pulling the latter.
The trailer overturned as the Chevy negotiated a turn at an unsafe speed. Garcia was taken to the hospital by paramedics for treatment of his injuries.
Geisbrecht and a 36-year-old passenger in his trailer, named Guadalupe Paz-Frias, went unscathed. The authorities have not cited anyone for negligence in the crash, and the investigation is still underway.
Accidents occur for a lot of reasons and often lead to fatalities or life-threatening injuries. Some common injuries sustained in a car crash include head and brain injuries like concussions, internal bleeding, skull fractures, or lacerations that require plastic surgery to fix.
A person can also sustain soft tissue injuries like muscle tendons or torn ligaments. When a vehicle engulfs in flames after an accident, a driver can have a burn that requires skin grafts and sometimes leaves scarring.
Broken bones and spinal cord injuries also occur, and most accident victims never fully recover from their wounds. Drivers are advised to stay focused on the road while driving and do so with utmost care.
