The expertise of a car injury attorney would help sort out legal issues following the identification of the man who died in an auto-pedestrian accident in Santa Ana, California. On Monday, May 25th, the authorities named 33-year-old David Barrera, as the victim of the hit-and-run collision.

The investigators said that the man’s life came to an end after a car driven by an unidentified driver struck him and left him lying on the roadway with severe injuries. Officers from the Santa Ana Police Department arrived at the scene at around 10 p.m. on Monday, May 18th, to find the man unresponsive.

Paramedics with the police tried to revive Barrera and failed. They pronounced him dead and took his body to the coroner for identification. The officers conducted a preliminary investigation that disclosed that the deceased was jogging on South Raitt Street near West St. Anne Place before his tragic end.

Witnesses said that Barrera was trying to cross the street when a white-four door sedan struck him. The driver of the vehicle, who remains at large, fled the scene without rendering help to the victim or leaving behind any information on his or her identity.

The police are actively investigating the case, and they have asked anyone with helpful information to contact the SAPD on the listed line. There is no additional information at the time of this report.

Under California law, a hit-and-run causing death carries a vehicular manslaughter charge and a prison sentence. Offenders should hire a car injury attorney to represent their interest and give them legal advice.
