One of the department’s troopers said in the preliminary report that Herrley was traveling north when he suddenly veered off the roadway. The truck tractor went down an embankment and ended up striking the pavement of the access road below.
First responders flew Herrley using a Halo Flight to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment. He died from his injuries in the hospital despite the best effort of doctors. The cause of the accident remains unknown, and the DPS is still investigating.
Single-vehicle accidents occur when a car crashes without involving another vehicle or person. It sometimes leads to fatalities, and those who survive, sustain severe wounds depending on the wreck. When the crash involves another car, it becomes a two-vehicle collision.
When the number increases beyond two, it becomes a multiple-vehicle collision. Other forms of crashes, as seen in accident reports, are auto-pedestrian collisions, auto-motorcycle crashes, auto-bicycle accidents, and train-auto collisions.
These accidents occur mostly due to the negligence of motorists and their inattentiveness when driving. Traffic officials advise that drivers should avoid the two, and follow traffic rules to save their lives and that of others.
