The three were traveling southbound along the East 2450th Street. Just south of the North 900th Avenue, it appears that the person driving the ATV apparently lost control of the vehicle. It isn’t clear if the driver was Grace or one of the other two teens. As the driver lost control, the ATV veered away from the roadway and overturned.
Grace Schell sustained critical injuries in the crash. She later died of her injuries. The two other teens sustained serious injuries. Once the first responders and paramedics reached the scene, the injured victims were rushed to the emergency room of the Blessing Hospital.
Grace was a student at the Liberty HS. She was also a part of the school’s cross country team and the cheerleading team.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident. The focus of the investigations, at this point, is to determine how and why the accident occurred. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigations. Subsequent accident reports from the deputies may shed a light on the factors and causes that contributed to the fatal crash.
