The man for unknown reasons drove into the path of an oncoming northbound 2004 Ford F-150 truck driven by 51-year-old Kevin Cruell of Athens. The two vehicles collided head-on, causing the second car to skid, and the driver to lose control.
The Ford then collided with a 2019 Toyota RAV4, driven by a Nicholson resident identified as Brenda Pettus, 53. Sprinkles, who was a passenger in the third vehicle, sustained severe wounds, and the medics took her to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, where she passed away.
Radford added that Johnson and Cruell sustained injuries but did not mention the extent. Pettus was severely wounded, and her condition is unknown at the time of this report. The police have not cited anyone for the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The fatal accident is the sixth the Athens-Clarke County has recorded this year. Those involved in multiple collisions should contact a car injury lawyer to discuss their liabilities and legal options.
