A teenage driver in Denton, Texas, would need to hire a drunk driving attorney following his arrest by the police for driving while intoxicated (DWI). The Denton Police Department took Riley Terry, 19, into custody after a single-vehicle crash on Sunday morning, May 3rd.
The DPD Spokeswoman Amy Cunningham said in a press briefing that they received multiple reports of a single-vehicle crash in the 4000-block of Interstate 35. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Terry unconscious in a heavily wrecked white pickup truck.

Witnesses told the officers that the young man was traveling south on the service lane before striking numerous cement housings for drainage ditch along the roadway. Cunningham added that while paramedics treated the suspect, the lawmen noticed an opened can of White Claw.
The police could not determine if Terry was drinking the beer while driving, but he admitted to consuming two mixed drinks on the night of Saturday, May 2nd. The young man refused to let the medics draw his blood for a toxicology test, and they ended up taking him to the hospital for that purpose.
The Spokeswoman said that while handcuffed to a bed at the hospital, the teenager tried to leave and assaulted a police officer who attempted to restrain him. It took the combined effort of medical security, nurses, and lawmen to keep Terry still and draw his blood.
The police believed there were sufficient signs of intoxication and charged the suspect with driving while intoxicated and the third-degree felony of assault against a public servant. There is no additional information at this time.
