FRESNO COUNTY, CA – A firey collision along I-5 left at least five people dead in the early morning hours Monday.
According to KFSN, the accident occurred within the southbound lanes of I-5 near the exit to Panoche Road shortly after 1 a.m.

Troopers with the California Highway Patrol say the collision was caused by the driver of a pickup truck who crossed the center line and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.
Both vehicles burst into flames upon impact. All five occupants in the pickup truck, including three children, were killed. The driver in the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
No details with regard to the identities of those involved have been released as of yet.
Investigators are working to determine an official cause of the collision at this time.
