The man plunged about 400 feet down an embankment north of Lake Hughes Road. When emergency responders arrived, they used a rope to retrieve the Chrysler with moderate damages.
Mesropyan was unresponsive, and the medics pronounced him dead. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. There is no additional information about the incident, and the investigation to determine what led to it is ongoing.
Single-vehicle accidents are not uncommon on California’s roadways. They occur for the same reasons as other types of traffic collisions. They cover but are not limited to speeding, driving under the influence of an intoxicating substance, or distracted driving.
Animal sighting, lack of brake fluids, mechanical or manufacturer’s defect, adverse weather or road conditions, and an underlying medical condition causes this type of accident. To this end, drivers must work to mitigate these factors and prevent accidents.
To achieve this, reduce in-car distractions like eating, texting, changing CDs, and focus on the road. Maintain the speed limit, avoid driving in adverse weather, and do not drink and drive.
