A woman arrested this week in connection with a DUI crash that left four people dead in Escondido, California, would need the services of an experienced drunk driving attorney. The San Diego authorities listed the suspect’s charges, following her arrest on Thursday, June 4.
The Escondido Police Department took the suspect into custody on
suspicion of murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. They
released her name as Ashley Rene Williams, a 28-year-old Escondido woman.

Preliminary reports showed that the woman struck four members of the same
family at about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5. The victims were at the time,
taking an evening walk on San Pasqual Valley Road. They were barely one minute
away from their Escondido home when Williams’ vehicle collided with them,
according to the EPD reports.
Witnesses tried to save the victims by administering life-saving measures
on them before the emergency response team arrived. However, none of them
survived the collision.
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department released the victims’ identities as
50-year-old Carmela Camacho and her partner, 33-year-old Abel Valdez. Two
juveniles, Yovanny Felix, 10, and 11-year-old Emmanuel Rivers, also died in the
accident. The reports confirmed that both juveniles were Camacho’s grandkids.
Meanwhile, Williams survived the encounter with minor injuries. Escondido
police officers later determined she was driving under the influence when the
crash happened. The suspect remains held at the Vista Detention Facility, but
the reports did not indicate the involvement of a legal representative.
